Dear participants of the ISWI 2009. Today we sent your official invitation letters to you (via mail, not e-mail, i.e. that it will last at least 3 or 4 days until they reach you). We hope that they will reach you, soon. During the last days we got lots of mails with questions about the preparations for the conference. So we collected the questions and updated our FAQ page. So please take a look at it and see, if your question is already answered there. But if you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask us via mail.

Getting the invitation

Hi everbody. We finally got it. After around 4 weeks we made it: We got through 2500 applications. Like we already told you, every application had to be read by three different persons independently from each other. (So in fact, we read 7500 applications ;-)) And like you also know, all of you wrote 3 essays, so that's why it took so much time to do it. We hope, you now understand us better.

But what you want to know most is if you are invited or not. We have very good news for you. You will get a mail today (12 pm German time at latest) including the information if you are invited or not. So please, be just a little more patient. Thank you for everything.

The application process is over!

Yesterday at 12 'o clock p.m. we closed the application process for the International Student Week in Ilmenau 2009. Lots of applications from many different countries reached us (the exact numbers you will find here in a few days).

What happens next?

We are now revising all the applications. This can last for about one month (We will do our best, because we know, that a lot of you have to apply for a visa). If we have chosen you to participate in the ISWI 2009, we will send you the official invitation. This will be in February or March. Please be patient and refrain from continuous asking. We appreciate it. There will be an announcement, that we have sent the invitations, here.

After you have received the message that you are invited please plan your journey and apply for visa, if necessary. Please contact us, if you are not able to come. So you give other people the chance to visit ISWI 2009.

Until 12 'o clock p.m. today (GERMAN TIME) you can still use our online form to apply. At 12 'o clock the application will be locked. (Please send your application before 12 'o clock p.m..) 

You will know if your application was successful, when you receive our official invitation to the ISWI 2009. This will be in February or March. Please be patient and refrain from continuous asking. We appreciate it. There will be an announcement, that we have sent the invitations, here. So stay tuned and take a look at our website from time to time.

Extended Application

Due to technical problems we decided to extend the application process.

You only have to register and write three essays about your choice for a workgroup, your motivation and the motto of ISWI 2009.
